Your right to delete

You can delete your FitnessLoop account and all associated personal data at any time. This is a permanent action — once processed, your data cannot be recovered.

How to delete your account

You have two ways to delete your account:

1. In-app (fastest): Open the FitnessLoop app → Settings → Delete Account. Confirm the deletion. Your account and all data will be removed immediately.
2. By email: Send an email to hi@fitnessloop.app from the email address registered to your account. Use the subject line “Delete My Account”. A real person will process your request within 48 hours and confirm by email once complete.

What gets deleted

• Your profile (name, email, weight, goal, preferences)
• All your logs (meals, workouts, walks, weigh-ins, water, sleep, steps)
• All your chat history with Maya
• All food photos you uploaded
• Your plan history and any generated coaching content
• Your authentication credentials

Once deleted, your data cannot be restored. If you sign up again in the future using the same email, you will start with a completely fresh account — none of your prior data will be recoverable.

What we may retain (and why)

After account deletion, we may retain a minimal set of records for a limited period, strictly to comply with our legal and financial obligations:

• Payment records (transaction ID, amount, date) — retained for up to 7 years to comply with Indian tax and accounting law. These records do not contain your usage data, logs, or personal profile beyond what is required for the invoice.
• Anti-abuse records (a one-way hash of your email) — retained to prevent the same account from being used to abuse free trials or refund policies after deletion.
• Aggregate, anonymized product metrics (e.g., “how many users logged a meal today”) — retained indefinitely, but not linkable back to you personally.

Timing

• In-app deletion: immediate.
• Email deletion request: processed within 48 hours (typically same day).
• Backup purge: any residual copies in our encrypted database backups are purged within 30 days of your deletion request, per our backup rotation schedule.

Active subscription?

If you have an active paid subscription, deleting your account will not automatically issue a refund. Please review our Refund Policy and, if eligible, request a refund before deleting your account. Once your account is deleted, we lose the ability to look up your purchase history to process a refund.

Data export before deletion

If you want a copy of your data before deleting, email hi@fitnessloop.app with the subject “Data Export” from your registered email address. We'll send you a full export (every log, every chat, every photo) within 5 business days, at no cost. This is your data — you keep it.
